This is the Last News Letter May 21st, 2010
What a great year we have had!
End of the Year Class Party- (Walk to park and play/ice cream) I still need some slips and money turned in J. We leave at 12:30. Bring sun block and wear comfortable clothes.
Chaperone's: blanket or chair if you are going to want to sit down, they do have some benches.
Field Day- Pray for no rain on Thursday. If it does rain we will not participate on Friday due to we have the end of the year school party that day at the same time.
Last day of school- watch for a lot of materials coming home, summer work packet and other surprises. J
Kindergarten Celebration Night- we will start at 6:00. Please have your child dress nicely for the event.
Take home books- there will be no more daily take home books. Please continue to read with your student everyday it is very important.
Activity bags- No more bags will be going home.
Science- we will be studying about plants and will finish up by the end of the year.
Character First- The month of May we will be learning about “Virtue.” Virtue- demonstrating honesty and integrity in my life by doing what is right
We will stress the following:
I Will:
-do what is right and encourage others to do the same.
-guard my eyes, ears, words, and thoughts.
-learn to stand-alone.
-abstain from anything, which might damage or pollute my mind or body.
-treat others, as I would want them to treat me
Bible- No bible verse. Wow have we had a wonderful year of studying those verses.
Numbers-We have been learning the facts. Make sure you keep practicing these over the summer. These addition facts need to be memorized: (2+3=5, 3+2=5, 2+4=6, 4+2=6, 3+3=6, 2+5=7, 5+2=7 3+4=7, 4+3=7, 2+6=8, 6+2=8, 3+5=8, and 5+3=8, 2+7=9, 7+2=9, 3+6=9, 6+3=9, 4+5=9, and 5+4=9 2+8=10, 8+2=10, 3+7=1-, 7+3=10, 4+6=10, 6+4=10, and 5+5=10) Work on subtraction too.
SSRW- we have worked on the short “u” words this week. They read the little storybook Russ and the Gift and Fred Fox and did the work pages. Make sure they read all summer. Reading is very important!
