Mom’s Have a Happy Mothers Day

Old Testament Booklet- Today the Old Testament Booklet that the students have made went home. We walked though and learned about all these stories. Please save these and review them with your child. They should be able to look at the pictures and let you know about the story.

Thank you – Thank You all for a wonderful teacher appreciation week. I loved all the food and gifts. You are all a great group of parents and have wonderful kids.

Science- We studied about animals. The filed trip went well and everyone learned a lot and had fun. Thank you, for those who helped drive us all there.

Drills- this month we will be having tornado drills, fire drills and lockdown drills.

Character First- The month of May we will be learning about “Virtue.” Virtue- demonstrating honesty and integrity in my life by doing what is right
We will stress the following:
I Will:
-do what is right and encourage others to do the same.
-guard my eyes, ears, words, and thoughts.
-learn to stand-alone.
-abstain from anything, which might damage or pollute my mind or body.
-treat others, as I would want them to treat me

Bible- Bible verse-James 4:8a Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Test date May 14th

Numbers-These addition facts need to be memorized: (2+3=5, 3+2=5, 2+4=6, 4+2=6, 3+3=6, 2+5=7, 5+2=7 3+4=7, 4+3=7, 2+6=8, 6+2=8, 3+5=8, and 5+3=8, 2+7=9, 7+2=9, 3+6=9, 6+3=9, 4+5=9, and 5+4=9 2+8=10, 8+2=10, 3+7=1-, 7+3=10, 4+6=10, 6+4=10, and 5+5=10) They need to give the answer within a three second time limit. Practice these facts in the car to and from school. The Ten Addition Family was introduced and harder facts included above. Only a few children know these facts well!!!

SSRW- we have worked on the short “u” words this week. They read the little storybook Ducks Quack, Hens Cluck. Have them practice reading their storybooks at home. Remember to return their slips for the books and their short word list.
